Closing Time
/by Sejo Pan
I am sitting in this little tavern, waiting
For you to come along with the nightfall
How I wish I could stub out the twilight like the cigarettes.
Silent traffic flows outside of the window
The street lights up
Out of focused glare
Always thought you would fade into the night
Carefully look sideways before crossing the street to
Walk towards my corner.
But your seat is being empty
I am forced to face myself.
In the dim light flashes by your hands
Warming your glass of wine or
Holding my hands.
The whole city outside could fall apart
As long as there is still this corner of ours to hide
To get drunk,
To continue our story by myself.
How I am willing to just wait here for you forever
Were not afraid of the dawn
After the night burns out when I have to
Walk on the edge of the shattered dreams to
Find the way home alone.
