Ireland
/by Sejo Pan
The green ocean
Outlines my home far away
When the whole wide world has all ended
Please come here to lie down by my side.
Nothing happens twice
The sound of the footsteps
On the cobble stone paved streets
Come and go
Saints and scholars at only a glance
I can not but only push the dreams away, gently
At the street corner dimly lit, asking in Gaelic
Where can I find pubs?
Where can I find fiddlers?
The lad on the bicycle again passes by
This Liffy River
So light it is falling before winter.
After all these years I came finally back
Only unable to find that innocent battle
I so honestly fought in the beginning
Yes I have been to your country
All the way through gusty winds and stormy rains
At the other side of the sunset.
When it all quiets down
You are the bright foreign moon
Casting out my shadow.
My friend from another island afar
Please, sing with us
There is a sigh of weary
Hard times, hard times come again no more.
